WILLIAM MOOTZ William Mootz moved on to his next adventure Aug. 22, 2012. He was 17 years old and was born in Milwaukee, June 12, 1995. He was an active member of the Boy Scouts and spent three weeks as a counselor at Kimball Scout Reservation this summer. He was a valued member of the Green Valley High School Madrigal Choir. William's passion was the time he spent outdoors. Whether jet skiing, wakeboarding, riding bikes, running RC cars, or fishing and hunting at his grandfather's cabin in Alaska and with his family in Wisconsin, William lived life to the fullest. William was very active and fun-loving, but his best quality was his heart for people. He spent countless hours dumpster diving for parts to build bikes for neighbor kids who couldn't afford them. He always took the time to care, willing to talk to people just to make them feel better or make their day a little brighter. He was a leader amongst his peers and not afraid to question things in order to make positive changes in the community. He might not have always been politically correct, but his intent was always selfless. Services to honor this extraordinary life will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Plaza Hotel Ballroom, 1 Main St., with reception to follow. William's life is celebrated by his parents, Charlie and Delores Mootz; his brother, Patrick; and his sisters, Christina and Trisha. William also went ahead of his grandparents, Walter and Peggy Mootz and Chuck and Diane Bickley; aunts, uncles, and cousins; extended family members; and many very dear friends. A memorial fund has been created at Nevada State Bank (account # 618021554) or an "indiegogo" account entitled, "The William Mootz Memorial Fund."
