WILLIAM "BILLY" REITER

1948 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
WILLIAM "BILLY" REITER William "Billy" Reiter was called home by the Lord July 19, 2018, after suffering two years with brain cancer. He was born July 11, 1948, in Florida. Billy was a man of unwavering faith and a true fighter. He trusted God completely. As a high school student, Billy took up bowling and after graduating from high school, he moved from Washington to Hawaii. Still bowling, Billy became a member of the Professional Bowlers Association. While living in Hawaii, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force to serve the country he loved. Billy and his wife, Catherine "Katie," shared 31 loving years together. Billy and Katie traveled the country because of Billy's passion for Harley Davidson's. Whether traveling the country, or at home in Henderson, Billy made friends in whatever he did. Billy retired from Caesar's Palace, where he worked in the Local 501 union. After he retired, he loved to "play trains" so he joined the Las Vegas Garden Railway Club, where he eventually became president. He also helped the Peacemakers, where he made quilts for cancer patients. He was a committed volunteer to the food pantry at Life Springs Christian Church. Billy leaves behind his wife, Catherine "Katie;" his son, William "Bill" Reiter III of Austin, Texas; daughter, Deborah Anne (David Hall), and grandson, Raylan Daniel Hall of Richmond, Kentucky; sister, Candice (Mike Oswian) of Las Vegas; brother-in-law, James Barnowsky of Ann Arbor, Michigan; niece, Stephanie (Nick Schuler) of Chicago, Illinois; great-nephew and great-niece, Nicholas and Katherine; "spare" children, Tina Crum, Eddi and Jon Sanders, Gabby, Ty, Luke and Beau; "spare" mom, Wanda Ingels; "spare" sister, Debbie (Matt Warner); as well as devoted dogs, Sophie and BoBo. Billy's celebration of life will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 4, at Life Springs Christian Church, 2075 E. Warm Springs Road, Las Vegas, NV 89119. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah. Donations can be made at support.bestfriends.org
