WILLIAM WEBB William George Webb - Heaven inherited a wonderful man Sept. 2, 2012. After a long and brave battle with numerous illnesses, our husband, father and grandfather left us to begin his journey to Heaven, where he was greeted by his beloved daughter, Allison; his father, Jack; his mother, Vera; and his brothers, Keith and Dale. During his life and struggle with illness, he always remained positive, never complained and had a wonderful ability to make others laugh. Bill was born July 2, 1934, to Duncan John Webb and Vera Lenora Simpson Webb, the second of four brothers. He graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He served as an electronics technician aboard the USS Forrestal. Bill married the love of his life, Lois Marie Beard, April 23, 1960, in Kanab, Utah. Together they had two children, William Donald Webb and Allison Webb. In 1974, Bill graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked for Hercules Inc. and later for EG&G in Las Vegas, at the Nevada Test Site. Dec. 20, 1993, his life was forever changed with the arrival of his only grandchild, Taylor Paige Webb. Taylor's parents are William Donald and Kimbra Cutler Webb. Taylor was the light of his life and he adored her. She lovingly referred to him as her role model and inspiration. Bill was a "Utah Man" through and through. He loved University of Utah football and enjoyed traveling to watch them play, especially in bowl games. He loved the New York Yankees, a passion he inherited from his mother, Vera. Mostly though, he loved being with his family and traveling with his wife, Lois. His family was his passion whether it was his immediate family or his many nieces and nephews. He loved them all and cherished the time he spent with each of them. Bill also shared a special relationship with his brother-in-law, Donald Beard and his wife, Karen. Bill is survived by his wife, of 52 years, Lois; his son, William (Kimbra); his granddaughter, Taylor; his brother, Jay (Pat); and his many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Mosdell Mortuary, 676 S. Highway 89A, Kanab, UT 84741, (877) 644-2214. He will be laid to rest in Kanab City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the .
