DOROTHY HANSEN Dorothy Dean Montgomery Hansen, 94, passed away in Richfield, Utah, Sept. 22, 2009. She was born in Richfield to Allen and Lenna Scott Montgomery, April 7, 1915. She married Clyde Earl Hansen, March 6, 1933, in Richfield. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Clyde passed away Dec. 28, 1989, in Las Vegas, where they had resided for 42 years. He was buried in Richfield. They owned a summer home in Richfield, and spent many vacations and summers there after Clyde retired. Dorothy returned to reside in Richfield in 1993, after selling their home in Las Vegas. She was very active in the Las Vegas Second Ward LDS Relief Society as work director, three years visiting teacher and was responsible for sending cards to all ward members for many years. She and her husband worked in the Las Vegas genealogy library for several years. She loved flowers and belonged to the Flower Club for 15 years. Dorothy won many first prize ribbons for the flowers she and her husband grew in their yard. She loved to crochet and in the time she had resided in Richfield, with the help of many friends donating yarn, had made and donated 100 lap afghans to the Care Center in Richfield. Many went to family and neighbors and also many to the Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, where Clyde passed away. Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Sharon L. Guido of Las Vegas; and one sister, Lois McKinley of Richfield. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde; three daughters, Beverly Hymas, Janet Diamond and Judy Swanson; parents; sisters, Eva Hansen and Ilah Carron; and brothers, William and Allen Ray Montgomery. Funeral services were held Sept. 26, in Richfield, under the direction of Maglesby Mortuary. Dorothy will be dearly missed by all her family.
