GERALDINE SHERVANICK Obituary
GERALDINE SHERVANICK Geraldine Irene Shervanick (nee Wade), 87, born in Harrisburg, Pa., Aug. 1, 1925, passed away of pneumonia Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at Complex Care Hospital in Las Vegas. She was the daughter of Lloyd E. Wade and Ruth Pletz, of Harrisburg. Geri Shervanick was a dedicated mother, grandmother and volunteer committed to family and friends. After the untimely death of her husband, Thomas Marion Shervanick, in 1957, she raised her three children as a single parent. In 1971, she moved to Phoenix, where she lived and worked for 15 years. Returning to the east coast in 1986 to help several family members, she resided in Phoenix, Md. with her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter. In 1996, the family moved to Las Vegas. She was an active member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 562 in Towson, Md., as well as the Red Rock Moose Lodge 252 in Las Vegas, where she held several leadership positions including president from 2001-2002. She was also a strong supporter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and local charities including Ronald McDonald House. She is survived by her brother, Lloyd H. Wade and his wife, Betty; two sons and their spouses, Thomas Smith and Lynn Armstrong of Enola, Pa., and Larry and Vickie Shervanick of Las Vegas; her daughter, Karen Heroy and son-in-law, Dr. James Heroy of Las Vegas; her grandchildren, Jody Shervanick, Jennifer Shervanick Budge, Karen Welsko, David Heroy, and Kristen Heroy; five great-grandchildren; and her long-time partner, George "Ozzie" Osborne. The Shervanick family extends its deepest gratitude to the many physicians and support staff dedicated to her health and wellness. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13, at Advent United Methodist Church, 3460 N. Rancho Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89130.
