 JAMES GRIFFIN ESQ. James Gantt Griffin Esq., 31, a long-time resident of Las Vegas, passed away Jan. 15, 2013, at his home. He was born July 2, 1981, in Loma Linda, Calif., where he attended Montessori School and the Loma Linda Academy. He graduated from Horizon High School in Las Vegas, earned a B.A. degree from the University of Redlands in California, and a Juris Doctor law degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV in 2009. He practiced law at the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, where he was able to realize his dream of helping those who otherwise could not afford expert legal representation. He loved collecting old music LP's, listening to a variety of music, fishing, playing video games and enjoying the company of friends and co-workers. He is survived by his parents, Drs. Margaret and Ronald Griffin; his brother, Anthony; grandmother, Louise Griffin; uncles and aunts, James and Jean Slaughter of Alabama, Valeria and Harold Slaughter of Washington, D.C., and Brian Griffin of California; and cousins, Eric, Chandria, Lyn and Michael. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89146. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of James Griffin Esq. to the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, 800 S. 8th St., Las Vegas, NV 89101.
