Major Edwards was one of my favorite pilots in Civil Air Patrol. Back in 2017 Major Edwards took me up on my first Orientation flight. Major Edwards was the first person to teach me the basics of flight. I experienced g force for the first time with him. He was the first person to really get me into aviation. He was the best pilot to be around. He was so fun to be around and would make every flight memorable than any other pilot. Whenever we had a flight with CAP and I found out he was going to be my pilot I was so excited. He was and still is the best pilot and mentor I will ever know. I trust Major Edwards with my life in that Cessna more than anyone else. In 2018 I graduated BCS and he was the senior to give me my graduating certificate. I wish I had more photos with him to remember because he really left a great impact on me. Seeing him today was not the way I expected to see him again after this pandemic but every time I go up in the sky from my next o flight to when Im flying fighters in the Air Force Ill always be thinking about you Major. Thank you for inspiring me to become a pilot and for all the happy memories you have left on me. Being in CAP without you will be very sad but here on out every time I go to a cap meeting, fight, or even wear the uniform Ill be thinking of you. The amount of cadets that you have impacted and inspired truly shows how much of an amazing above and beyond person you are. Major Billy Edwards thank you for your service to this nation and may you Rest In Peace. May god be with you.
