If you believe that each of us contributes to the collective energy of the world, then you understand what a loss the world has sustained with the death of Albert Finney. He was not just a brilliant actor, but if the interviews he gave and impressions that he left upon those who knew him personally and professionally (as they have been expressed through various media) are any indication at all, he was a truly great man in many ways. By all accounts he brought down-to-earth authenticity, humility, humor, and kindness to his interactions and endeavors. Though seemingly thoughtful and introspective, he lived life with a zest and positive exuberance. My heart goes out to his family and circle of friends, who must be feeling the loss so acutely. It is well known that he was very private, and all the attention focused on him at the moment, might make those closest to him feel slightly uneasy on his behalf. I hope however, that they are instead able to find some small comfort in knowing how admired and respected, and yes loved, that he was by so many. Peace to his soul and theirs.
