ART LYNCH Obituary
ART LYNCH Art Lynch left us on his birthday, August 7, 2018, after a lengthy illness. He was born in 1955, Chicago, Illinois, the only son of the late William and Mary Lynch. He graduated from Oak Park River Forest High School and University of Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Laura; his stepdaughters, Elizabeth and Ann, and their husbands, Frank and Colin; and six wonderful grandchildren, Evan, Elijah, Sean, Aiden, Grace and Kyra; and sisters-in-law, Maggie and Wendy. He also leaves behind a large network of friends, associates and students gained from his activities as a SAG/AFTRA board member, and his work as a theater and film actor, college teacher, broadcast journalist and media professional. He also enjoyed the companionship of his dogs, most particularly Bobby, his Lab Mix. He moved to Las Vegas in 1984 and was a resident of Boulder City since 2004. He bookended his broadcast career doing announcing work for KNPR Sunday mornings. He was often given leadership roles but his main role was as cheer leader for people in his life, especially for his wife, Laura. He was honest, emotional, curious, generous, caring, sensitive, playful and passionate and continued to live life as fully as possible, never giving up on life. He was a man of faith, idealism and optimism. We will miss his presence, voice, touch and engaging smile. Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 25, at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 1399 San Felipe Drive, in Boulder City.
