Brian Africk Obituary
Brian Africk passed away on September 2, 2018, after a courageous battle with corticobasal degeneration, a rare brain disease. Brian, a long time Las Vegas resident, was born in Chicago, Illinois. As a young man, Brian enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served four years as a firefighter. After his honorable discharge, Brian went to work for the airlines. He was later employed by the U.S. Post Office, whom he retired with. Brian was an avid sports fan and played and competed in many sports. Of note, Brian won the amateur world foosball championship in 1988. He also played and competed in Jai Alai, known as the fastest sport in the world. Brian was a devoted husband and father, and will be missed dearly by his loving wife, Helen, and his three children, Joshua, Kelena, and Bren. Brian is also survived by his father, Alan, and his three brothers, Randy, Jeffrey, and Sean. Services for Brian will be held at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at 12:40 p.m.
