Dr Helfman was warm and kind...he always had a smile to share with a great sense of humor. He was our family doctor and a lifelong friend. My love and prayers go out to his family. I am so sorry for your loss.

Ed was a great guy. Since 1978, when I first met Ed, we were friends. Both of us had trained at LAC-USC Medical Center in LA. Over the years we would see each others patients. When I would operate on his patients, he would assist me with their surgery. He was a terrific doctor and a good person. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He will be missed. William Bossak, MD

Ed was the one who taught me the "art" of sports betting when I moved to Vegas in 1988. Always quick with good inside information to improve the odds. Great doc and friend to so many. Will be missed.
