JACK A. CROSS Jack Arnold Cross, 92, of Las Vegas, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018. He was born February 1, 1926, to P.B. and Ella Cross, in Okmulgee, OK, and was a 52-year resident of Las Vegas. Jack served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He graduated from the University of Tulsa in 1950 with a degree in Geology. He worked in the oil fields in Illinois as a petroleum geologist in the 1950s then returned to Tulsa in 1960. He took a job with Fenix and Scisson in 1966 at the Nevada Test Site, outside of Las Vegas as a technical writer. He rose through the ranks and retired as an executive vice president in 1989. He was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; and younger brother, Jerry. Jack is survived by his beloved wife, of 70 years, Jane; daughters, Amy (Ralph) Smiecinski and Sydney Cross; son, Nathan (Melanie) Cross; grandchildren, Sarah (Tim) Pregill, Peter (Blair) Smiecinski, Bennett (Jennifer) Cross and Mallory Cross; and great-grandson, Jack Pregill. Jack will also be missed by his cat, Maggie. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Sat., Jan. 5, with services following, both at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123.

Sending my love and wishing all of you comfort, and may you be flooded with good memories of Uncle Jack. My father had some fun stories of the two of them growing up together, and I am glad they're together now, though it is hard for those of us left behind. Love to your whole family; please know our hearts are with you.
