1944 - 2018 Obituary Condolences
JAMES FINKLEA James Robert Finklea, 74, passed away June 7, 2018, after a short hospitalization. He was born May 11, 1944, in Phoenix, Arizona. James was a graduate of Arizona State University in Tempe with a degree in accounting and went on to excel in all areas of the construction business throughout the United States as well as overseas. He was the CEO of Desert Construction Consulting, owned by him and his wife, Nancy, and doing business all across the country with his top-notch group of consultants. James' leisure-time passions were duck hunting with pals in Canada and riding his Harley, two activities he had to give up in recent years. He also loved vacation travel and we will all remember that he was an avid fan of the New England Patriots football team, and even more so of the Boston Red Sox baseball team. And, oh what a talker. James was always ready with a good story or a great joke, and was a true friend to all who knew him. James' passing is a huge loss and sorrow for so many people. James was preceded in death by his daughter, Jill Finklea of Phoenix, Arizona. James is survived by his wife, of 41 years, Nancy; his son, Joseph "Rob" Finklea of Phoenix, Arizona; his daughter, Katherine Cortes, and her significant other, Peter Ojeda, of Las Vegas; his granddaughter, Courtney Cortes, and her fiance, Ruben Flores, of Las Vegas; and his grandson, Ceferino "Wolfie" Cortes of Las Vegas. He is also survived by sister, Leigh Hartman of San Diego, California; sister, Susan Lucking, and brother, Tom Finklea, both of Phoenix, Arizona. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 16, with service following, both at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Reception to celebrate James' life will follow at El Torito Mexican Restaurant, 2126 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
