LYLE LEAVITT Lyle Isabelle (Coon) Leavitt, 94, passed into eternity at her home, Wednesday, January 9, 2019. She was born February 8, 1924, in Salt Lake City, and was a resident in the Las Vegas area since 1942. Lyle was an honored and loved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend. She graduated from Cyprus High in Magna, UT. Lyle went to the LDS Business College and then went to work at Westinghouse Electric Company as a billing clerk November-June 1942. She moved to Las Vegas and married Dee Leavitt. With her business sense, she held jobs between times spent with Dee as he went into the service for World War II. She gave birth to eight children. Later employment included Anderson Dairy and secretary at Opportunity Village of Las Vegas. From a very young age, Lyle was active serving in various callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which included service in the Las Vegas temple from it's opening in 1989 until 2005. Her work in family history is a great treasure to her posterity. Her home was a favored gathering place on many occasions and often a comforting place to find refuge. She was a loved lady and will be missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cameron Dee Leavitt; daughter, Jean Salmon; sons, Bill Leavitt and Mark Cameron Leavitt; and grandson, Mark Cameron Leavitt. She is survived by her son, Richard Leavitt of Las Vegas; daughters, Betty Salmon (Ron) of Henderson, Judy Booher (Ken) of Burien, WA, Deanne Dunn (Tom) of Las Vegas, and Sheila Leavitt of Las Vegas; and daughters-in-law, Cheryl (Bill) and Carolyn (Richard).
