MARIE BONNETTE Marie Janice Bonnette, of Las Vegas, passed away December 28, 2017, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's disease. Marie was born November 15, 1930, in Burlington, Vermont, the daughter of Charlie and Ita Fabrico. Marie graduated from Cathedral High School in 1948. Marie married her World War II hero, Rene Bonnette, August 29, 1949 and they remained happily married for 61 years until Rene passed away in June 2010. After several job related moves, Marie and Rene settled down in Burlington, where Rene worked for General Electric. There was nothing more important to Rene and Marie than their family. Marie was a homemaker and loving mother to her six children and the home she resided in on Weston St. became a welcoming location not only for her children, but for her extended family, neighbors and friends. Marie was a civic minded person, volunteering at the library at St. Joseph's grammar school and acting as a co-leader of her local Girl Scout troop. When all her children were old enough to attend school, Marie started her career as a supervisor in the medical records department at the Medical Center, where she worked until she retired in 1990. When they retired, Marie and Rene started their second life by relocating to Las Vegas. Entertaining family and friends in their new location was an enjoyable part of their life in the southwest and they enjoyed numerous reunions with family and friends. Marie was one of the most non-judgmental, caring and loving individuals that you would ever want to meet. She was consumed by a love for her family, her faith and her friends. Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Rene; her eldest son, Peter; and her great-granddaughter, Layla. She is survived by her five children; her sons, Michael of Phoenix, Arizona, and Thomas and his wife, Leslie, of Shelburne, Vermont; and daughters, Mary Lou Bonnette, and her fiance, Philip Stringer of Yellville, Arkansas, Diana and her husband, Michael Lynch of Las Vegas, and Monica and her husband, Jim Eversole of Rosharon, Texas. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Services were previously held. Any memorial contributions in Marie's name that you wish to make may be made to the respite or hospice house of your choice. The people who staff these institutions are truly angels.
