Many other family members and a host of friends share our grief. Marie was an optimistic, joyous and loving woman who opened her heart, her arms and her home to family and friends. She was a master Bridge player, skilled at crafts and sewing, a realtor, a natural cook and an excellent mother and homemaker. Marie and Norman met at a base in Oklahoma in 1946 and married November 23rd of that year. In his hometown of Trenton, Missouri. They welcomed Teresa in 1948 and Vickie in 1950. He rejoined active duty in the U.S. Air Force in 1953 and Marie embraced the adventure. A highlight was three years deployment in Japan where Marie made many lifelong friends. They retired in Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California, took many RV trips and finally lived full-time in their motor home for five years. Marie loved their summers as campground hosts in the Sierra Nevada and Yellowstone National Park and their many summers in Alaska with Vickie and Larry and their grandchildren by marriage. In her final years at MacDonald Ranch, Marie helped found the Bridge club and added her energy to the Sit and Be Fit exercise class. Celebration of life will be Tuesday, July 24, at her home.
