MARILYN STEEGE Marilyn M. (nee McCormick) Steege, 87, a resident of Las Vegas since 1966 went to be with Jesus at her Las Ventanas home of seven and one-half years, Wednesday, September 5, 2018, after a 17-year battle with one failing kidney. Marilyn and her husband, Herb, celebrated their 47th Wedding Anniversary just two days prior to her passing. Marilyn was born in Redlands, CA, July 6, 1931 and raised there. She was chosen Miss Redlands Queen of National Orange Show in 1951. She attended Skadrons Business College, San Bernadino Valley College and Eastern New Mexico University earning an Associate's degree in Accounting. Her employers included: Bank of America, the Department of Defense (George Air Force Base); Crystal Bay Casino (Lake Tahoe, NV); Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department - Commissioned Officer; MGM Grand Casino (Las Vegas); Clark County Credit Union, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer; David Andrews, CPA; and the Clark County Public Defenders Office where she was a volunteer, then a part-time paralegal. In retirement, Marilyn enjoyed visiting her children and stepchildren and their families as well as traveling with Herb. She especially enjoyed spending two weeks a year for 35 years at their Laguna Beach, CA timeshare. Marilyn and Herb were active members of their Desert Spring United Methodist Church. Marilyn had two sons from her first marriage to Neil Fulkerson. When she married Herb in 1972, he had three daughters and one son. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Ray McCormick and Juanita Onken; and stepmother, Edna McCormick; her younger son, Kirk Fulkerson, and youngest stepdaughter, Allison Steege. She is survived by her husband, Herb Steege; son, Craig Fulkerson (Belinda); three grandchildren, Travis Fulkerson (Kasey), Aimee Thrailkill (Ron) and Danny Fulkerson; two great-grandchildren, Tyhler and Trenton Fulkerson; stepdaughters, Laura Robinson (Kurt) and Suzanne StClaire; stepson, Troy Steege (Martina); and four step grandchildren, Chase and Cooper Greenfield, and Nick and Heather Robinson. A Celebration of Life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 22, at Desert Spring United Methodist Church, 120 N. Pavilion Center Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89144.
