MARY JANE O'ROURKE 1934-2019 Mary Jane Catherine O'Rourke was born in Dubuque, Iowa, to Peter and Adeline LeConte. She was raised on a farm with three brothers and a sister. Mary Jane learned about hard work early in life and never shied from it. In 1956 she married her partner in life, love, work and mischief, Paul O'Rourke. They would raise their family of four and always be ready to supervise the resulting 12 grandchildren. Mary Jane and Paul moved to Las Vegas in 1962. Four years later they would open O'Rourke Plumbing. Together they worked side by side, growing a family, a business and a wonderful life. Mary Jane loved her family fiercely and always put their needs above her own. She was loved by many, feared by some, and respected by all. The family would like to thank Dr. Jim Christensen for his many years of friendship and care for Mary Jane. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. Sun., June 16, with services following, both at Palm Eastern, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89123. Please come share a Mary Jane story with Paul and kids.

She was a truly wonderful lady - I always enjoyed when something I said made her laugh or smile. And she had to be so proud of her family.

Our sincere condolences to Paul and the entire O'Rourke family for their great loss.

Tom & Family,

I am truly sorry for your loss. I met your mother a few times she was a very lovely person.

I recently lost my mother, so I can truly understand the loss of a matriarch of a beautiful family.

My prayer for your family at this time, may the memories and the love always be remembered.

Mary Jane and the O'Rourke Family were instrumental in me starting a family and business of my own. I often reflect on the principles of hard work, dedication, and fairness I was taught while working with her.
Many thanks and heartfelt appreciation to her and her legacy.

Mary Jane was very special to me for 42 years and I really did feel honored that she seemed to enjoy time together with me as I did her, mostly on the phone the past 15 years. I learned so much from Mary Jane.

Mrs. O'Rourke was the type of person that all of us strive to be. No nonsense & all seeing with a huge compassionate streak. I have many fond memories of growing up with Mike. My mother & Mary Jane alternated driving Mike & I to hell-week football practice. The very first day, Mike & I thought we might have made a mistake. But there was no way Mrs. O'Rourke would let us quit. Later in high school I was privileged to deer hunt with the O'Rourke's and every trip began with a thorough alcohol search of the vehicle by Mrs. O'Rourke. This was meant to inhibit us from measuring distance by the 6 pack. There are too many great memories to put here, but they are all wonderful memories of a truly loving person. She will be missed but never forgotten.
With love & friendship,

My sincere condolences to the O'Rourke family, on the passing of Mary Jane. That Lady had more Grit than almost any person I ever knew. Our Families go way back in the Plumbing Trades, and although I've never worked for her, I had absolute respect. Big Prayers go out to this iconic family.
