RICHARD LEAVITT Richard C. "Rick" Leavitt passed away April 25, 2019 after a short illness. He was 67 years old. He was born in Las Vegas and spent the last 40 years in Blue Diamond where he was very much beloved by his friends and neighbors. He was a heavy equipment mechanic at the James Hardie Gypsum mine for 35 years. After his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife and their little dog Harry to the desert for four wheeling and camping. He was a wealth of knowledge on any project you may have started. He was predeceased by his father, Wayne Leavitt; and his in-laws, Eleanor and Colin Beaton. He was survived by his wife, of 41 years, Jean (Beaton) Leavitt; his mother, Shirley Leavitt; his sister, Shirayne and her spouse, Bert Waite; and his brothers, Gary and his wife, Alice, David Leavitt and Chris Leavitt; as well as many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Chris and Krissy Milligan for all of their help during this sad time. The family would like to thank Season's Hospice for their care and comfort during this time. Services will be private at the deceased request. Donations in Rick's name can be made to Season's Hospice, 9205 West Russell Road, Las Vegas, NV 89148. He will be Loved and missed by his family and friends.
