Obituary Condolences

ROBERT KOP Robert Kop, 89, passed away peacefully August 3, 2018, with his family at his side, following a brief illness. Bob was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and educated at St. Louis High School before graduating from Marquette University. Following college, Bob returned to Honolulu and met his future wife, Susie Wai, at a party arranged by his sister, Hazel. Bob and Susie married in 1953. They had two sons and moved to the mainland in 1964, settling at Lake Tahoe. After a few years, Bobby got tired of shoveling snow and moved his family to Reno then Las Vegas following job promotions. He retired in 1990 from a long career as a loan specialist for HUD. Bob and Susie spent the next 20 years golfing the world. Their travels included trips to China, New Zealand, Europe, and most of the American states. They often traveled with Hazel and KK Chong. Bobby, as his friends called him, was a scratch golfer throughout his life. He golfed regularly until a few weeks before his death. We are sure Bob has found heaven to be a place of wide fairways and smooth greens. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Randall; and brother, Herbert. He is survived by his wife, Susie; son, Sheldon (Susan) Kop of Genoa, Nevada; grandchildren, Allison Wopschall, Andrew Kop and Michelle Grunert; three great-granddaughters; and sister, Hazel Chong; of Honolulu. Services will be held at Hawai'i Memorial Cemetery at a future date.
