DANIEL RIGGS Daniel Wayne Riggs, 53, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, passed away suddenly Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, in Ely, at an annual Labor Day family camp he helped organize through his church. It is an understatement to say that Dan will be missed. He touched countless people throughout his life by his love for others, his compassion and his desire and willingness to help. Dan was born Sept. 21, 1961, and lived in Arizona, before settling in Las Vegas. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he married the love of his life, Lisa, June 11, 1983. They have three children, Nicole, Rebecca and Christopher; and one grandchild, Paisley. Dan's family also includes his mother, Dee; father, John; and sister, Jo. Dan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He loved God, Lisa, and his family with great passion. As well as being marriage partners, Dan and Lisa also together ran Trop-Aquarium, a business Lisa's parents started, for more than 30 years. They were also partners in ministry, serving to help people and families through crises and struggles in life. A man of great ability and energy, Dan was a champion competitive shooter, a skilled chess player and an accomplished hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. As an entrepreneur and businessman, Dan encouraged and helped others to follow their own passions and dreams and he helped launch several people in their own ventures. As a Christian, he was a devoted follower of Jesus and a leader in his church. Dan was a true servant with a passion for helping heal broken people. He was known for serving wherever he could in any way he could, including routinely stopping to help stranded motorists. Dan will be remembered for many good things, including his passion, integrity and love for his family and others. Memorial service to celebrate his life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at his church, Green Valley Christian Center, 711 Valle Verde Court, Henderson, NV 89014.

It's been 3 1/2 years, and I still think of the impact that Danny had made in my life and in the lives of others.

Danny, you were a true warrior of God's holiness and grace!!

I miss you, brother!!

Dear Lisa,
You probably do not remember me, but I took Growing Kids with you and Dan many years ago. I was a single Mom with two young daughters and I was hurting after going through a terrible divorce. My children attended GVCS and we attended service there. Dan was one of the first people to greet us on our first day. He had such an infectious smile and was so kind. It was such an honor to watch you and Dan model how a Christian marriage should look.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss, but please rejoice in knowing he is in the arms of Jesus and though you miss him terribly, Dan will see you again someday in heaven and you two will be able dance and laugh together always.
My prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Lisa and Family,

Our hearts are so heavy hearing of your loss. Danny was always there for us anytime we needed him. What a man of character... I know he was welcomed as a 'good and faithful servant' into the arms of our Lord and Savior.... May you be comforted with beautiful memories and the Peace only the Lord can bring. One day you will be reunited in Heaven. Until then, carry on with your beautiful Granddaughter... Let us know if there is anything at all we can do to help you...Anything at all...Our thoughts and prayers are with you...

Dear Lisa and Family;
Sadden to hear the loss of your love, so young he was taken from you. The lifes that he touched through his journey will always remain alive in your heart. May his memories of kindness, love, joy, and compassion for life be remembered always. He always had a story to tell, of course a smile to go with it. He has left a legacy always to be cherished.
Sincerely, Patricia
