MUNROE SHAIN Munroe Erwin "Roy" Shain, loving father, grandfather, husband, and musician, lost his battle with cancer and passed away at home Feb. 11, 2012. He was born March 30, 1929 in Boston. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a resident of Nevada for over 50 years. He was an undergraduate of the New England Conservatory of Music and graduate of the U.S. Naval School of music. Music was his life. He was a man of few words, but spoke the loudest when playing his bass. He played with the "best of the best" with passion, emotion, and conviction. He was traveling on the road with singer Johnny Mathis, which brought him to Las Vegas where he made his home for the last 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Antoinette, "Toni"; sons, Steve and Eric; grandchildren, Ashley, Sam, Jordan, and Ronni; brother, Lou Shain. Public graveside services with military honors will be at 1:20 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City.
