COL CHARLES H. HOLDEN U.S. Air Force Retired Colonel Chuck "Brows" Holden USAF (Ret), Flew West 10 February 2021 due to Covid and subsequent organ failures. Born 6 Feb 1940 in Houston, Texas to Horace and Dorothy Holden. Brows always had a dream.to Fly and that single thought drove most of his decisions from the age of 19. His first assignment was to Otis AFB, Mass. There, he met and married the love of his life, Rose Phillips. They were married for 58 years. While in the Air Force for 30 years he earned the Silver Star, Purple Heart and other medals. He retired in 1989 at Nellis AFB and started his other career. Every day was about flying. Whether actually flying, or fixing his bonanza, or drinking coffee at the FBO or hand-flying in the barit all revolved around flying. Whether it was a Citation, bonanza, sailplane, big or small he was ready to fly. His last flight was two days before he went to the emergency room. The man lived his dreamhe flew. Chuck is survived by his loving wife Rose; daughter Kathy and her husband Joe; son Charles Jr and his wife Cheryl; and his grand kids, Nicole, Sean, Kjerstin, Charles III, and Evelyn, and his sister Virginia.
