DANIEL WAYNE BADGER Daniel "Coach" Wayne Badger, beloved husband, cherished father, grandfather, brother, friend, teacher and amateur poet teed off on the first hole of God's Golf and Country Club at the age of 81 on July 11, 2021. Born the youngest of seven kids in the small town of Trojan, SD, in the Black Hills, he graduated in 1958 from Mobridge High School. He thereafter attended Black Hills Teachers College under a baseball scholarship, graduating with a BS in Mathematics, which later culminated in achieving a Masters in Educational Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. During his undergraduate studies, Daniel met the love of his life and soulmate, Donna, and married her a year later to start an amazing 60-year journey together, which included five sons, Chris, Lanny, Lenny, Chad and Darrin. All of their sons were born in areas of South Dakota but, at the behest of his oldest brother and patriarch of the family, Delbert "Bud" Badger, the family happily moved to Las Vegas in 1967. During his career as a middle school math and PE teacher, he coached middle school sports. Daniel retired from a full career in teaching in 1997. He thereafter began a new and successful career as a commercial real estate agent, fully retiring in 2008. The remainder of his life was filled with all the things that made life exceptional, including the forever love and admiration from the woman of his dreams, his 5 sons, 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In all things, he was a mentor and coach. He was kindhearted, slow to anger, generous and loving. He always had good advice, a kind word and a gentle demeanor and was a blessing to all that knew him.
"Life's Recipe - Take 2 lives, fill with ample love. Mix in 5 kids, stir for many years. Add wives and grandkids, let them grow to full size. Sprinkle love on all, keep original love alive and enjoy forever. I love you, Me." ~ Daniel Wayne Badger.
