DANIEL RIGGS Daniel Wayne Riggs, 53, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, passed away suddenly Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015, in Ely, at an annual Labor Day family camp he helped organize through his church. It is an understatement to say that Dan will be missed. He touched countless people throughout his life by his love for others, his compassion and his desire and willingness to help. Dan was born Sept. 21, 1961, and lived in Arizona, before settling in Las Vegas. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he married the love of his life, Lisa, June 11, 1983. They have three children, Nicole, Rebecca and Christopher; and one grandchild, Paisley. Dan's family also includes his mother, Dee; father, John; and sister, Jo. Dan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. He loved God, Lisa, and his family with great passion. As well as being marriage partners, Dan and Lisa also together ran Trop-Aquarium, a business Lisa's parents started, for more than 30 years. They were also partners in ministry, serving to help people and families through crises and struggles in life. A man of great ability and energy, Dan was a champion competitive shooter, a skilled chess player and an accomplished hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. As an entrepreneur and businessman, Dan encouraged and helped others to follow their own passions and dreams and he helped launch several people in their own ventures. As a Christian, he was a devoted follower of Jesus and a leader in his church. Dan was a true servant with a passion for helping heal broken people. He was known for serving wherever he could in any way he could, including routinely stopping to help stranded motorists. Dan will be remembered for many good things, including his passion, integrity and love for his family and others. Memorial service to celebrate his life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at his church, Green Valley Christian Center, 711 Valle Verde Court, Henderson, NV 89014.
