DONALD STANLEY BEAN Donald Stanley Bean, son of the late Gerald and Lorraine Helen Bean. passed away Sunday May 16, 2021 in Las Vegas. Donald was born in Yonkers, NY. He graduated from Hastings on the Hudson High School. He attended Colgate College and graduated from Miami University in Ohio. Donald was in the U.S. Army in the early 50s, stationed in Germany. He was proud of the fact that he learned to speak German. He participated in the Merrill Lynch Executive Training program. He was an Investment Banker who worked for Shearson, Lehman, Hutton for many years in Cincinnati, Ohio and retired as an Executive Vice President in 1990. Donald was an avid reader, reading over 250 books a year. Travel was his passion and he visited Europe, South America and the Far East. His favorite places were London, Hong Kong and Budapest. Donald worked a lot with the hotels and casinos in Las Vegas. He often visited and loved the weather in Las Vegas where he chose to retire. He also loved Lake Tahoe and spent many summers there. He is survived by his son, Duane Bean and his wife Sarah, of Laramie, WY; his brother, Alan Bean and his wife Judy, of Bloomfield Hills, MI: his grandson Alexander Bean of Boston; and his wife, Adelle Leeder Gersten.
