DONALD STEINITZ Donald Jay Steinitz, 55, of Las Vegas, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012. He was born Nov. 14, 1956 in Burbank, Calif. He was a brilliant software designer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose. Don is survived by his father, Bernd Stevens; his lovely wife, of 14 years, Rhonda Steinitz; sisters, Jana King and Rusty Stevens; son, Jason and his two children; stepson, Dennis Shultz and his two children, Preston Schultz and Brandon Chambers; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be 11 a.m., Friday, May 18, at Palm Northwest Mortuary, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. In lieu of flowers, we suggest a donation to any animal charity.

It's been almost 30 years since I spoke to Don. Today I thought I would look him up. So sorry to see he has passed away. He was a kind friend and mentor.

Omg. 6 years after your passing...i find out. I am devastated. I have known you since 1976 when you and I were just kids basically. You were my dads best friend and employee at electronic city in Burbank ca. You were also working for your dad as an accountant. We always chatted about acctg. We grew up and I moved to Florida. We kept in touch. I cannot believe I can never call you again. I am so so so sad. I have a lifetime of memories with you. May you rest in peace. Remember pocalolo. I will forever treasure the time we spent together.

I am shocked and saddened to learn of Donald's passing. we only occasionally spoke but I always found Don to be a warm and compassionate person. I enjoyed our chats.

I was so shocked to learn of the passing of Don who had been a great inspiration to me. Please accept my sincere condolences. I greatly miss our email and Skype chats and he remains in my thoughts. God bless to all his family.

I am totally blown away, I just stumbled across this. I remember the first time we met online and you used to answer all my short emails, you were funny and a down to earth guy. You will be missed.

Don ..... my lovable "Shmendrick .... as I write this I am too choked up for words .. my memories will always be the long 3-4 hour phone conversations about the autographs we bought and sold to each other and about the hobby in general and how you always mentioned Rhonda and your dog (Pepper - I believe) and your love for them both. I don't know what else to say.. I'm grief stricken at this point. May you rest in eternal peace and tranquility.

Grumpa - when thinking of you and the thought of you not bring here leaves me still. You and Rhonda are like two peas in a pod and I never imagined seeing her without you. When I think of you I think of all the good times we had. Your little pranks and jokes and your silly little words you would come up with...... I still had soo much to talk to you about...... :( Even though I wasn't your daughter you cared and loved for me as though I was. I am going to miss all our talks about our medical conditions and the here after all our ghost stories you were the only person that I could talk to and you really understood. I loved how you loved my cousin Rhonda who I love like a sister you were her world and I know she was yours! I want to thank you for making her so happy she would always tell me you were her diamond in the rough her perfect treasure! For those of you who ever had the opportunity to have known my brother in law you would have known what a really funny great guy he was. He loved my sister with all his heart as she so loved him too. His sense of humor will be surely missed. Children loved Don because he had a gentle soul and would basically let them get away with ANYTHING. He loved his dog Pepper, whom he though was the world's greatest dog, and to him Pepper was. Good-bye Don, now that you have flown away on Angels wings, may you forever rest in peace and remain in the heart of my beloved sister. Never got a chance to tell you...I loved you, you were a great man.
