Gwendolyn Jean Cikanek, 58, of Las Vegas, passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005. She was born Nov. 2, 1946, in Mishawaka, Ind., and resided in Las Vegas for 16 and a half years. Gwendolyn was a preschool teacher. She is survived by her husband, Edward; daughter, Chanda (Bryce) Oliver of Des Moines, Iowa; son, Joseph Cikanek of Las Vegas; sister, Carol (Mark) Kyrias of Brookfield, Ill.; sister-in-law, Marie (Frank) Trankina of Indian Head Park, Ill.; granddaughters, Amber, Stacey and Sarah Oliver; and grandson, Sheldon Oliver, all of Des Moines, Iowa; and mother, Betty Kluge of Southbend, Ind. Visitation will be from 1-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones. Visitation also from 11 a.m.-noon Monday, Feb. 21, with a service immediately following, at First Baptist Church, 4400 W. Oakey. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Palm Memorial Park-Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. Donations may be made to the Awana Clubs International.
