JC PEARSON
JC PEARSON JC Pearson left us too soon January 18, 2021 at the age of 87, in Las Vegas, Nevada from long-term heart disease. JC was born in a small log cabin in the hills of Tennessee. He married his forever sweetheart, Joyce Lynn Olsen, in June 1952 in Whittier, California, who was by his side until the very end. He will be missed greatly by all his family and friends who loved and respected him. JC served in the National Guard, U.S Army and four years in the U.S. Navy, going over to Korea. He bought a home in Orange County, California and owned a milk delivery business until 1975, when he sold the business and moved to Las Vegas. He became a professional poker player and won many porker tournaments here in Nevada, California and even in Ireland. He was inducted in the Senior Poker Hall of Fame. He enjoyed working in his garden, which was beautiful and produced a lot of good fruit and vegetables, through the use of his compost. He was always willing to show and share his love of the garden and compost pile. He enjoyed the mountains, the ocean and became a scuba diver in the 1970. But mostly going "creeken" which was to him just investigating a small creek looking for whatever he could find, like small fish, crawfish and even snapping turtles which he would catch with his bare hands. When his health started failing, he enjoyed the PBS nature and history shows immensely, but Beetle- juice was his favorite comedy. He was an amazing and good man who had to educate himself with night school at the local college and became an avid lifetime reader. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Gracie Pearson; as well as eight brothers and sisters. He had four children, John Pearson, Linda Moore, Suzanna Pearson, and Debra Rudy; four grandchildren, Elisabeth Arredondo, Amie Johnson, Shane Rudy, and Emery Gould; and six great-grandchildren; he adored them all. A family service will be planned for a future date
