JERRY BELT Jerry M. Belt, 77, of Las Vegas, passed away and moved on to greener fairways Oct. 10, 2012. He was born in Coon County Township, Iowa Nov. 26, 1934. Will always remember Jerry. He gave me my first golf lesson at Muni 1966. Still use what he told me to this day.

To The Belt Family,
I recently was informed of Jerry's Death
and was deeply saddened. I worked at Muni in the early 1970's in the pro shop cleaning clubs, sweeping and running golf carts. I have fond memories of that job and the opportunity it gave me to play the game of golf. Most of all I remember the time and effort that Jerry gave me
to help develope my game. He always made time for me when I had a problem with my game.Jerry is "without question" a true gentleman and a true professional.
Thank you Jerry- You will be missed

I just learned of Mr. Belt's passing and my thoughts are with his family. In the late 80s, I took golf lessons from Jerry. He gave me an exceptional golf swing that has lasted me through these many years and given me great joy in the game. I am currently living in New Mexico & one of my best golfing buddies was also a student of Jerry's when she was a young girl living in Vegas in the 60s. We often say, "that was one for Jerry" when we hit a good ball. Thank you Jerry and may your new journey be full of "birdies".

So sorry to hear of Jerry' pasting. If not for him I would not have taken up the game. I still think back of all those summer days at Muni. And his lessons. What a sweet swing he had. We will all miss him .

Diane, Lauri, Tami and Jerry - I have no words to express the sense of loss that I feel today. Jerry Sr. was one of the finest people I have ever had the fortune to meet. Not only did he teach me to play golf, but also what it meant to be a teacher, a father and a gentlemen. We will all miss him very much but are better for having him in our lives for the short time we did. May God bless you and keep you in this difficult time. With all our love and sympathy, The von Hakes

No one has done more to grow the game of golf in this town than Jerry Belt. What a fine representative he was to all of us he touched. No more lessons Jerry time to go play..

Jerry was my golf instructor as a junior golfer in the 1970s. He was a kind, friendly and incredible teacher of the game. As the years went by I would always get a warm hello from Jerry as we crossed paths. Thank you Jerry for your knowledge and guidance and for setting a wonderful example of what is to be a humble gentleman.
