JOHN BRERETON John J. Brereton, 95, left this life peacefully Feb. 13, 2013, in Salt Lake City, surrounded by his children. Born in New York City, he lived the majority of his life in Las Vegas working in the gaming industry. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II. An avid golfer, he had the thrill of scoring a hole-in-one on the 16th hole on Black Mountain Golf Course, where he built his retirement home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annette, in 2007. He is survived by his three children, John E. Brereton, Andrea F. Husby and O'Neil J. Brereton; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services were previously held.
