Linda Lea Maini-Bowers left this world better than she found it. She fought a fierce battle with cancer and passed on to be with our Lord on December 11,2020. Linda lived her life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanne Maini, her adopted parents Richard "Dick" and Betty Ham, her brother Steven Maini (Susan), her nephew Jack and niece Michele. She is survived by her partner of thirty-eight years, Ken Gamboe, and her brothers Michael Frank Maini and Jim Ham.
Linda grew up in a politically active family in Carson City. Seventeen years ago she moved from Utah to Las Vegas to take over Maini Distributing, the family business since 1966.She was loved and respected by everyone. She was generous even when she had little to give.
Linda loved her eight cats and her well nurtured container garden. She supported the native wild horses of the Nevada desert. Linda will be greatly missed by her nephews who found an objective, listener in her. Her many close friends will miss the enriching conversations at each BBQ and pool party Linda loved so much to attend with them.
Linda easily connected with all people. She had a broad and deep knowledge base to pull from that grew till her last day. The sadness of losing this caliber person is deep however the number of people she elevated to be civic minded has far reaching and a long lasting impact on our lives and community. Services are pending.
